Story of Bogey
I found an ad that a young couple had to get rid of their 4 1/2 month Shar-pei because they were allergic to him. They said he had one set of puppy shots; this bothered me, but it's so hard to find a dog that hasn't been vaccinated; he didn’t have a microchip which was great and wasn't fixed yet…another great thing.
Well, the moment we saw him we knew that he had some issues, and I was just praying Pat could fix them. They said the outside of his ears have been a problem and they were using olive oil on them... why? Well, he had no hair on the outside of his ears. Then they said he just started not letting anyone touch his head/ ears. Also he sounded like a little piggy, like a snort.
My niece and I knew if we didn't take him he would probably end up at the shelter so off we went home with this little guy. He didn't let us touch his ears or head; I thought this was weird and maybe he was abused? Maybe someone hit him? Or maybe his head hurt ? Well, when I did finally get to look in those ears I knew why he didn't let anyone touch them; they were flaming red/hot with thick brown foul smelling discharge that you could smell across the room and poor thing still sounded like he couldn't get enough air.
Well we got home after many stops to let him out to drink and relieve himself; that was another thing he drank constantly. I had made some of Pat's food until I could have Harmony Farms deliver and the BIO-8 and CLO-3-Pearls ready to go, so I crossed my fingers that he would eat it since all he knew was dry dog food… yuck! But as soon as I put it down it was gone YaY! I thought first battle won!
That night I sent a picture to Pat and without me even saying anything about him she sent me back an e-mail saying he needed some help with his ears, eyes and nose amazing! I knew he needed something but for her to know just by a picture that was amazing. She suggested that we watch him for a while and do the green tea in the ears along with the raw food and BIO-8 and Pearls.
Update: Well a week later it was amazing on what good food and vitamins can do for a dog, and the green tea was starting to work in the ears also, better than any ear product I had ever used before. His hair started to grow back, he wasn't drinking constantly, altho he did still have that sucking air snort.
Then we started to notice really odd behavior, like wanting to be outside all the time, licking the cement, and you could not take him from it. He was glued to the cement! Then he started to eat anything in sight: rocks, sticks, bugs, dirt, plants, anything and everything on the ground, so I had to go outside and make sure everything…and I mean everything…was clean every day. Another thing was he didn't seem like he was bonding with me, and because I was with him every minute of every day I thought this was odd. It was like nothing meant anything to him. If you said good dog with an excited voice, nothing. He was just blank. He did bond a little with my niece because she walked him, and he loved to go for walks and play with other dogs. He also loved to be outside, loved the open air. I spent most of the winter freezing so he would be comfortable because he was very hot!
Update: Pat started him on a remedy when she felt we had enough info, but said he needed a lot of work. Little did I know how much work he was going to need.
Update; He then started to spin, and by this I mean, burst of energy, crazy energy, snapping, running behind the sofa again and again just strange behavior. By this time I was thinking what in the world did we get ourselves into; he was crazy! And don't mind saying that I cried a few days in frustration.
Update: Well, a few remedies and $1,000 backyard clean up and gate, and later, things started to look up. Ears were looking good; he was very smart; got things very fast. I taught him how to sit, stay, speak, down. I even think he was looking like he was connecting with us sometimes. Then he started throwing up yellow foam, and one night along with yellow foam came diarrhea so bad that in the middle of the night I had to call Pat or take him to emergency. I called Pat, and after I answered few questions, one remedy later the diarrhea and vomiting stopped and slept till morning YAY! Thank You, Thank you, Thank You, Pat!
Update: Newest thing now is that he likes to jump up on tables, chair, sofa, beds, and then grab anything and everything he can; then runs off with it and tries to destroy it and or eat it before you can get to him. It's a real problem, he eats everything edible or not!
Update: Well the only screw in the back yard that was holding a pipe to the wall is now in Bogey's tummy. Yes, Bogey ate a screw today! By the time the vet X-rayed him, they said it was already in his colon and let’s just wait and see if it passes... well, lucky for Bogey it did.
Update: Bogey has now been having asthma attacks along with still throwing up bright yellow mucus and foam. I can't imagine how much crap is still in his system and will it ever end ?
Update: Pat gave Bogey another remedy
and so now all asthma attacks have stopped YAY! Altho Bogey is still not
perfect, he has come a long way. I can't even imagine what he would be like
today if he didn't have good food, good nutrition, and a Great homeopath!
