TAJ
It
has been a long and challenging time for Taj and myself. We have been having
skin issues and behavioral issues with him ever since he turned 12 weeks old.
We suspect it had to do with Vaccines and perhaps some genetics from previous
generations being vaccinated as well.
He has been raw fed ever since we brought
him home at 8 weeks; however, we were following the breeder's vaccine protocol
which is Jean Dodd's protocol for puppies. Soon after his second puppy shot we
noticed he seemed to have a reaction and switched Vet's to what we thought was
a holistic vet. When we posed questions to her about giving the final (third
vaccine) shot at 16 weeks as we explained his reaction previously, she informed
us that she highly recommend it, and that it will be different as she gives only
parvo and will wait a couple of weeks to give the distemper separately
indicating that she does not recommend the combo vaccine shots. She also gave
us a false sense of fear by suggesting that we are not able to tell when the
mother's immunity left and his immune system will start functioning, implying
the possibility of him catching these deadly diseases that are so prevalent in
our society.
We did not want to take the risk and so we went ahead with her
course of vaccines but he deteriorated in terms of his skin issues, i.e.
constant scratching and chewing to the point of losing all his fur and having
red marks everywhere from his chewing. He also developed some kind of OCD and
anxiety. At that point we had consulted many different vets and had to walk
away from them.
We also had consulted a few homeopaths who had good intentions
and are good but perhaps were not experienced enough in their field to assist
in this situation. After much research on the internet I happened to find Pat
and she has been instrumental in helping Taj along the road to his current state
of being. She has provided us with many tools, education on his nutrition, homeopathic
suggestions and advice on his healing stages.
Taj is so much better today and although still a work in progress, his transformation has been miraculous, and we want to thank Pat for all her kindness, patience, and tremendous knowledge and experience in undertaking Taj's case. Without Pat's knowledge and experience Taj may not be here today. Taj and I would like to thank Pat for everything, and she is still a part of Taj's ongoing treatment and recovery. My advice is to not let our fear-based society and Vet's guide you, but use your own instinct and your pet's reactions. I hope this will help you with your Pet, and to research your options before giving anything to your pet, so you can minimize anything that may cause permanent damage. Thanks, Joanne
